LeadMN, the Minnesota State two-year college student association, has announced that its Instructor of the Year for 2017-18 is Maran Wolston, Minneapolis College philosophy faculty.

Maran received the award on Saturday, April 21, at LeadMN’s annual Spring Assembly.

The Minnesota State Board of Trustees’ Awards for Excellence in Teaching program recognized two Minneapolis College faculty members as Outstanding Educators at its annual “Celebrating Excellence” awards luncheon on Wednesday, April 18, in St. Paul. Clara James, Information Technology faculty, and Matthew Palombo, Philosophy faculty, were among the 32 recipients of the 2017-2018 Outstanding Educators Award who were honored.

Derrick Lindstrom, Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Cultures at Minneapolis College, has been recognized by St. Cloud State University with the Christine M. Imbra Innovative Leadership Award. The award recognizes dedicated professionals who demonstrate leadership and innovation in the field of higher education.

Minneapolis Community and Technical College revealed a new brand identity May 3 signifying the transformations being experienced by the institution as well as its students.
