Bias Incident and Hate Reporting
Minneapolis College is committed to creating an environment in which all of our community members can learn and work, free from bias, harassment, and hate. We are committed to our pursuit of being an anti-racist institution as outlined in our Equity Statement, while maintaining an environment that aligns with our Mission, Vision, and Values.
What is a Bias Incident?
An act of bigotry, harassment, or intimidation that is motivated in whole or in part by bias based on an individual’s or group’s actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender identity, gender expression, age, marital status, disability, public assistance status, veteran status, or sexual orientation.
If you have experienced or witnessed a bias or hate incident, please use the button below to share it with us. We would like to address all incidents of bias and hate occurring within our community and offer resources when helpful.
Reports of bias and hate are reviewed by the College and processed according to Minnesota State policy, Minneapolis College policy and procedure, and the Student Code of Conduct.
Minneapolis College strives for our response to reports of bias and hate to be communal and rooted in restorative justice practices.
An interdisciplinary bias incident response team meets regularly to review response practices and to develop ongoing educational opportunities for the campus community.
