Energy (Electricity and Natural Gas)
- Upgrading heating and air conditioning equipment and controls thereby reducing energy consumption and carbon footprint
- Replacing florescent and other inefficient lighting with LED lighting
- Installing occupancy sensors turning off lights when spaces not in use
- Summer hours - closing campus Friday – Sunday to avoid energy consumption associated with cooling and powering campus
- Purchasing Renewable Energy Credits (solar and wind) to offset our carbon footprint.
Water
- Reducing Consumption
- Installing low-flow restroom stools and urinals
- Installing no-touch faucets with motion activation
- Reducing outside irrigation coverage and run times

- Increasing pollinator-friendly native plantings in rain gardens.
Waste Management

- 25 water bottle filler stations placed throughout campus to reduce the use of one-time plastic bottles
- Diverting unused furniture and equipment from landfill to new users via State auction system
- Making composting bins available on campus for the disposal of compostable waste.
