Embarking on a New Chapter

As summer draws to a close, soon we will experience sweater weather, the changing colors of the leaves, and the crispness in the air. Autumn always brings a renewed sense of energy and anticipation. I’m filled with optimism and excitement for the approaching academic year. I can't wait to embark on this new chapter with all of you!

This coming academic year, in addition to our strategic and divisional plans, it’s important that we focus on our campus climate and culture. A positive, inclusive campus culture contributes to a thriving educational environment. 

Thank you to everyone who took the time to complete surveys and provide feedback. We hear you and are committed to continued listening and engagement. As we review the results of our campus climate survey, as well as the informal feedback we’ve received, watch for sessions where we will have opportunities to look more closely at our relationships with our students, and with each other.

Together, we have the power to create a supportive and inspiring community that propels us forward. I invite each of you to actively participate, contribute your unique perspective, and help shape the vibrant culture that defines Minneapolis College.

As I met with individuals and faculty and staff groups over the past few months, the feedback is clear. To foster engagement, build relationships, and nurture a thriving community, it is essential that we embrace a diverse array of communication channels and methods.

The ways in which you choose to receive or share information may vary. Multi-channel communication allows us to meet you where you are—whether you prefer to meet in person, read emails, watch a video, participate in virtual discussions, or attend live events. This commitment to embracing our many channels of communication underscores the important role that repetition and consistency play in our collective journey toward understanding and progress.

By listening attentively and expressing ourselves thoughtfully, we cultivate an atmosphere where every individual's voice is valued and heard. I value your words, your active listening, and your willingness to engage and constructively contribute to the vibrant tapestry of our community.
