Minneapolis College is a proud partner with Augsburg University. Our dual admission offers graduating Associate of Science (AS) in Nursing students, a seamless pathway to pursue their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at Augsburg University.
All clinical partners have agreements with the Minneapolis College Nursing program that include vaccinations: all require the Covid-19 vaccination.
Please do not apply to the Nursing program if you cannot comply with the mandatory vaccination.

Criteria for Application to the Minneapolis College Nursing Program
- Be an accepted Minneapolis College student in good academic standing. Visit the Admissions webpage at Minneapolis College.
- Transfer students (from non-Minnesota State system colleges) should submit official transcripts for evaluation. Visit the Transfer Center at Minneapolis College.
- Score 70% or higher on Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) standardized Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) and submit those official scores to Minneapolis College thru ATI. The ATI TEAS exam must be taken within two (2) years of the application deadline. TEAS dates, times, locations, and more information is available at the TEAS exam webpage.
- Successful completion of a college composition writing course (Minneapolis College ENGA 1110 or ENGL 1110 or ENGL 1111 or the exact transfer equivalent) with a grade of “B” or higher. Visit Transferology. Official AP transcripts showing English writing scores of 3 or higher can also be submitted to meet this criteria.
- Successful completion of Anatomy (Minneapolis College BIOL 2224 or exact transfer equivalent) with a grade of “B” or higher, completed within the past three (3) years. Visit Transferology.

Application Notification of Admission Status
- Fall semester applicants will be notified by email of their admission status by June 1.
- Spring semester applicants will be notified by email of their admission status by October 15.
Students who receive email confirmation of acceptance to the Nursing program will be required to attend a mandatory Nursing orientation, and attend the mandatory 2 day Nursing On-Boarding before the semester begins.
If an applicant declines an offer of admission, or if an applicant is denied admission, a new application must be submitted and all requirements met for the next admission cycle.
Minneapolis College accepts 64 Nursing students each admission cycle (maximum of 64 in the fall; maximum of 64 each spring).
Application Review Process
The nursing program has a selective admissions process. Meeting the application criteria does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
All minimum admission requirements must be met. Applications are reviewed holistically using the following criteria:
- ATI TEAS overall score and the number of attempts to achieve 70% or higher.
- SCIENCE requirement grade for BIOL 2224 (Anatomy with lab). Number of attempts to achieve “B” or higher grade.
- Completion of pre-nursing program coursework at Minneapolis College.
- Transcript review showing repeated course attempts, particularly in any science courses.
- Previous enrollment with failure and/or withdrawal from another college or university nursing program.
- Current enrollment in another college or university nursing program.
- Current nursing assistant and/or have completed Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide (NAHA 1819) is NOT required but may be used as application review criteria.
Note: Minneapolis College accepted nursing students who have withdrawn or failed the Minneapolis College nursing program are not eligible to apply.
Minneapolis College and Augsburg University Nursing Program Partnership
Minneapolis College and Augsburg University dual admission partnership gives nursing students the opportunity to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree. The degree completion allows the student to complete an Associate of Science in Nursing Degree after 4 consecutive semesters in the Nursing program at Minneapolis College.
Four terms are then completed at Augsburg University leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. This partnership allows for shared commitment in advancing nursing education and excellence in diverse student populations. Visit the nursing webpage at Augsburg for more information.
