Restorative Practices Institute Employee Training
Employees are invited to take part in the Restorative Practices Institute, a professional development opportunity designed to help campus personnel build capacity for integrating restorative approaches into institutional practices.
Tuesday, June 3, through Thursday, June 5, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. on Campus
Facilitator Kendrick Walton will provide this 3-day in depth training on restorative practices. This interactive institute will prepare participants to lead restorative practices trainings and support implementation across classrooms, departments, and student-facing areas. Attendees will gain the knowledge, tools, and confidence to train others and help foster a more inclusive, student-centered campus culture. This training will benefit individuals in a variety of roles at the College—whether they are teaching, working directly with students, or shaping institutional policies

- Learn how to facilitate restorative circles and dialogue spaces
- Explore strategies for embedding restorative approaches in academic, student services, and administrative settings
- Gain skills to train colleagues in foundational restorative practices
Kendrick Walton Bio

Kendrick is a Policy Entrepreneur Fellow at the African American Leadership Forum, focusing on education policy.
He has worked as a Restorative Justice Practitioner with another community organization, serving Hennepin County. In that role, he primarily provided direct restorative services to schools and their districts. Kendrick has also served as an educator and debate coach in Minneapolis Public Schools, where his focus was promoting equitable practices.
Carrying a passion for restorative practices in education, Kendrick cultivates spaces that are healing-focused, well-being centric and forward-thinking. He also holds extensive experience in providing victim-centered, trauma-informed training and assistance for criminal justice, social service and other professional organizations. Kendrick earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Political Science from St. Cloud State University.
