Dr. Lydell C. Lettsome BIO
The Rev. Lydell C. Lettsome, M.D., is a board-certified general surgeon with a background in Christian and Medical Ethics. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Pre-Medical Sciences from Columbia University and his M.D. from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA.
A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Lettsome is a member of Physicians for a National Health Plan and the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons. Dr. Lettsome is the Founder of the Vanbert Health Equity Project, a non-profit dedicated to helping faith-based organizations address healthcare disparities affecting marginalized communities. Dr. Lettsome has shared his expertise on health disparities and health equity at national platforms including the National Medical Association, Baylor University’s Medical Humanities Department, and the American Public Health Association. He currently serves as the Medical Director for Wound Care at Bayhealth Hospital in Dover, Delaware.
