Bike Week Celebration

City residents, bicycle commuters, students, recreational riders, and bikers of all abilities are invited to celebrate all types of biking!

Celebrate Bike Week: Thursday, May 16, 9–10:30 a.m. at The Commons Park, 425 Portland Avenue South

Available at the event: 

• Safe routes and infrastructure
• Resources from exhibitors
• Free tune-ups and safety checks (offered by Minneapolis College BIKE program graduates)
• Scooter and e-bike demos
• Words from community and organization leaders.  

Interested in joining a ride-in to The Commons Park on May 16?

• South Minneapolis: Meet at the Sabo Bridge at 8:15 a.m. for a two-mile ride on the Hiawatha Light Rail Trail. 
• Northeast Minneapolis (led by Minneapolis College's own year-round bike commuter Chris Kulhanek, Biology Laboratory Assistant!): Meet at 18th Avenue and Central Avenue NE at 7:45 a.m. for a four-mile ride on the Great Northern Greenway and West River Parkway. 
• Southwest Minneapolis: Meet at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden at 8:15 a.m. for a two-mile ride on Hennepin Avenue and 4th Street separated bikeways.
• St. Paul: Meet at 7:45 a.m. at Yellowbird Coffee Bar (1168 Selby Avenue, Saint Paul) for a seven-mile ride on Marshall Avenue, Midtown Greenway, and Hiawatha Light Rail Trail.
