The Student Life Department is excited to announce the return of its Outdoor Adventures Program.

This program provides students at Minneapolis College with the chance to step outside of their comfort zones and engage in various outdoor activities in the Greater Minneapolis–St. Paul area, free of charge. These activities are meant to promote personal health and wellness, team building and community building amongst the student body.

“I know students have really enjoyed doing outdoor activities that they haven’t gotten to do before,” said Drew Rongere, Campus Recreation and Wellness Coordinator, “it’s a fun way to work on some life skills like teamwork and communication. It’s fun to give students the chance to engage outside of the classroom in a unique environment.”

Past Outdoor Adventures have included both summer and winter activities such as rock climbing, canoeing, orienteering, high ropes courses, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, biking and more.

“We’re going to start off with some smaller activities this summer and hope to get back to our normal programming this fall with some bigger trips,” said Rongere. “For our smaller trips we’re planning some group bike rides, different hikes in the Twin Cities area, and are looking at a Canoe or Kayak trip sometime in July,” he continued.

If you are interested in getting involved, want to learn more or have any questions or ideas about the program, go to the Student Life SharePoint website or email student.life@minneapolis.edu.
