Celebrating Our 2021 Graduates
Minneapolis College is excited to announce plans to honor its 2021 graduates with an upcoming hybrid commencement ceremony.
Graduates were invited to opt-in to participate in a socially-distanced, on-campus Grad Fest that will take place the week of April 26. Graduates will be able to come to campus with up to five family members, receive their regalia, cross our graduate red carpet, take photos to commemorate their accomplishments and receive their grad swag bag. For those graduates who opted to receive their grad packs at their home address, they will receive select items soon.
“Our Commencement Planning Team hopes that our graduates feel special and celebrated this year,” said Tara Martinez, Director of Student Life at Minneapolis College and head of the Commencement Planning Committee. “And, for those who can join us on campus during our Grad Fest, we hope their brief, ‘red-carpet moment’ will be a memorable highlight of their college experience!”
Following Grad Fest 2021, the entire Minneapolis College community is invited to help celebrate our graduates with the virtual portion of the Commencement festivities, which will take place on Friday, May 14 at 4 p.m. A pre-recorded video will include messages from Minneapolis College President Sharon Pierce, a student speaker and other college dignitaries. The video will also feature a slideshow of graduates who opted-in to participate in this portion of the Commencement festivities.
“I hope that graduates will extend invitations to their family and friends to join our virtual celebration, where we are excited to recognize our many graduates’ accomplishments!” said Martinez.
Minneapolis College Community members are encouraged to share photos, words of wisdom, or offer a message of congratulations to this year’s graduates on Twitter/Instagram using the hashtag #MplsGrad2021.
