DEI Through an Indigenous Lens with speaker Nicholas “Nick” Metcalf

Nick Metcalf Bio
Nicholas “Nick” Metcalf is an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe - Sicangu Oyate (Burnt Thigh People) and a faculty member and co-advisor of VOICES (the Native student organization), and an an Assistant professor at Metro State in the social work department. 

They have been actively involved in the local community with Two Spirit organizing, LGBT organizing, HIV/AIDS planning efforts, Native American child welfare, and Native American community mobilizing efforts. 

Nick has received numerous awards for their community involvement and has been involved in Native American campus initiatives including VOICES, the development of Native American courses, and serving on the University President’s Native American Advisory committee. They enjoy spending time with their family, writing, and spending time with Native American arts group – Oyate Hotanin.
