about the Empower and Thrive: Foster Student Resource Fair on Tuesday, June 10, 5 –7 p.m. in the Technical Building at Minneapolis College
OVERVIEW
This new annual programming, a collaboration between Minneapolis College and Foster Advocates, strives to deliver resources for young adults and adults who experienced out-of-home care or foster care.
This initiative provides access to post-secondary education and support resources, creating empowering pathways for foster-impacted young adults to achieve their goals. We're also partnering to raise awareness and expand advocacy for young adults in the Twin Cities who are part of Minnesota’s foster care system.
SCHEDULE
4:30–6:30 p.m. in T.2901:
Minnesota State College and University Application and FAFSA Lab (Get assistance completing your FAFSA and help with the financial aid process.)
Led by TRIO’s Educational Opportunity Center
5–7 p.m. in T Plaza (first floor of the Technical Building):
Resource Fair: Attendees will have direct opportunities to connect with community-based organizations, colleges and universities, and companies supporting housing, transportation, communications, health and wellness services.
Sponsored by Foster Advocates
- All Attendees will receive an Empower and Thrive Resource Guide, which includes information to help them navigate the fair.
- By engaging with the resource tables, attending presentations, or participating in the FAFSA Lab, attendees can earn entries for raffle prizes!
At varying times in T.1400:
Presentations and Panels: Attendees will gain valuable insight into accessing support services and developing meaningful connections that foster personal and academic growth.
