Campus Student Association
Part 1. Establishment
Minnesota State Board Policy 2.1 states that students at each college and university shall have the right to establish a student government. At Minneapolis Community and Technical College, the recognized student association is the Minneapolis Community and Technical College Student Senate.
Part 2. Duties
The Minneapolis College Student Senate has the exclusive right to recommend the chartering of clubs and organizations for approval by the College president.
Part 3. Recognition
The Minneapolis College Student Senate shall define in its constitution the selection of student representatives and the ratification process for student government. The College president or designee shall recognize the Student Senate as the official representative of the students, upon receipt of evidence that the student body has approved the constitution of the student government.
Part 4. Appeal of Student Senate Decisions
Minneapolis College has established a process for appeal to the College president or designee of decisions made by the student government relative to chartering, funding, or providing service to student organizations when such decisions may violate the law.
