Mission in Motion
Since last spring, I’ve shared several updates about the sweeping changes affecting higher education. The future remains uncertain, the shifting landscape ahead is daunting, and the pressures are immense. Protecting our mission-critical work will require difficult decisions. And yet, because of the strong foundation we’ve built together, the challenge can be met. I am confident that Minneapolis College will emerge stronger, more agile, and more capable of serving our students and the broader community. Grounded in this shared purpose, we continue to push forward.
As we begin a new academic year, we’re reminded of the promise that each fall brings. New students arrive full of ambition. Returning students show up with renewed focus. Faculty and staff prepare to do the transformative work that defines this place. Despite the uncertainty, this time of year always brings something meaningful: a chance to start fresh with focus and intention.
I invite you to attend our All-College Meeting on August 20. We’re planning for a meaningful event. I’ll be providing a campus update, and Associate Vice President Tom Williamson will share the latest on our strategic planning efforts. There’ll be participatory activities, time to reconnect, and an inspiring guest speaker to help us look ahead.
Ultimately, every decision and every change we make is for our students. They are not just our why. They are our future.
Sincerely,
President Sharon Pierce
