The Equity and Inclusion and Student Affairs divisions at Minneapolis College started an initiative called the Community Healing Collaborative (CHC) to build community-based ecosystems that support diverse needs for the mental and overall health of students, faculty, staff and the communities that we serve.
As part of the CHC, we launched a project called Student Voices to capture and document students' stories. With our nation facing two of the greatest health crises in its history—the COVID-19 global pandemic and the ongoing racism and systemic white supremacy in the United States—it is critical that we reflect on our role as an institution and respond to these events in our community with integrity, compassion and persistence.
Our intentions are to acknowledge and validate all voices by building bridges of understanding and connection. With a strength-based model, we hope to create, connect, promote and sustain an inclusive community rich in stories, ideas and commitment to the success of others
