Cultural Relevancy Advisor Training will help advisors to articulate and apply the key components
of cultural relevancy in their work. By utilizing the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI),
participants will learn how to identify issues, work more effectively across cultures and gain the
ability to practice the principles of culturally relevant student advising.

Virtual Culturally Relevant Advisor Training is for Minnesota academic advisors who seek to apply
a culturally relevant lens to their practice. There are six virtual sessions which will be presented in
the form of lectures, break out discussions, self-reflection, written narrative and pre- and post-work
knowledge surveys.

All participants will take the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) and meet with a licensed IDI
facilitator for a 30 minute session before the first advisor training session.
