Tiffany Lor Receives HR All Star Award
Tiffany Lor received the Minnesota HR All-Star Award, an honor recognizing exceptional human resources professionals in the state, awarded by the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system to system-wide standouts.
“Tiffany is an outstanding Human Resources professional whose career reflects dedication, growth, and excellence,” said Bobbie Denson-Davis, Vice President of Human Resources and Workforce Equity, who nominated Lor for the award. “Starting as a work-study student and now serving as the Assistant Director of Human Resources, she consistently showcases her leadership, collaboration, and partnership qualities throughout our institution.”
Tiffany Lor grew up in South Minneapolis and attended Edison High School. She began her journey as a student at Minneapolis College, where her career progression reflects her hard work, initiative, and eagerness to learn. She started as a work-study student in Admissions. After graduating, she returned as an assistant in the Office of Student Rights, she then transitioned to Executive Assistant for Dianna Cusick in Human Resources, then advanced to HR Business Partner. Now serving as Assistant Director, Lor leads with integrity and skill, supervising three business partners within the college while providing the same support and mentorship she once received.
“I wouldn’t be here if my supervisors and mentors didn’t give me a chance,” said Lor, who prides herself in investing in her job whole-heartedly. “In my career, I am true to who I am and I strive to treat everyone with compassion, understanding, respect, and dignity.”
Lor finds her HR role equally challenging and fulfilling, attributing much of her satisfaction to her team and business partners. She notes that the field is constantly evolving, offering continuous opportunities to build and nurture meaningful relationships across the college. Lor attributes much of her success to a strong family support system and a shared approach to balancing life’s responsibilities.
According to Bobbie Denson-Davis, what sets Lor apart is her commitment to continuous growth alongside her professional advancement. While excelling in her career, she is also completing her bachelor’s degree in human resources at Metro State University, demonstrating her dedication to mastering the craft. “Lor brings a strategic solutions-focused approach to HR management, fostering a collaborative environment where each team member feels empowered,” said Denson-Davis who expresses pride in Lor’s accomplishments. “Sought after for her expertise and problem-solving abilities, Tiffany inspires confidence and builds trust among faculty and staff and her journey is a testament to the goals and values of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities.”
Lor accepted her award during the Spring 2026 Minnesota State HR Conference.
