Warm Winter Wishes
During this season of gratitude, I think about where we were only a year ago, and I’m feeling incredibly optimistic. This is a great time to be part of Minneapolis College. We have daily opportunities to learn from one another and collectively make a positive difference on our campus and in our community. From the strength of our academics and our support for students, to our growing work for diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice, we’ve made strides.
I’m so thankful for our talented and engaged students, faculty, and staff, as well as for our committed alumni, donors, and friends. You all contribute to the richness of our community and keep us moving forward in our mission.
As we focus on the end of the semester and all the responsibilities that come with the end of the year, I encourage each of us to place a high priority on our friends, our families, and our own self-care. Take breaks to connect with loved ones. Breathe, renew healthy habits, reach out to someone, share a cup of coffee or even a simple smile, and express your appreciation to those who’ve helped you. Sometimes the smallest things make the greatest impact.
Please join me as we celebrate the end of the semester to renew our traditional seasonal event, Munch and Mingle, on December 12, from 10:30 a.m. to Noon on Technical Building level 2 (T2). Employees and host departments will provide munchies and space for you to mingle. I hope that you will take this opportunity to connect with each other.
I wish you all warm winter experiences and a safe and successful new year.
With gratitude,
President Sharon Pierce
