Minneapolis College Foundation FY2025 Annual Report Letter

Dear Friends,

This past year has asked a great deal of our community.

Our city and our state have experienced intense pressure, and higher education continues to navigate profound change. As a college rooted in the heart of Minneapolis, we feel the pressures alongside our students, many of whom are balancing work, family, financial challenges, fear and uncertainty, and the weight of an increasingly unpredictable world.

Through it all one truth remains clear: Students need Minneapolis College.

Founded in 1914 to expand access to education for those who had been excluded, our college’s commitment to access and equity has never wavered. We remain focused on creating opportunity through education by opening doors and providing a place of stability and possibility for those who need it most.

Today’s students face challenges well beyond the classroom. That’s why Minneapolis College takes a comprehensive approach to student well-being. We work to meet essential needs related to health, food security, and housing. These efforts aren’t peripheral to our mission—they are fundamental to student success. Students cannot fully engage in learning when their basic needs are unmet.

Your generosity strengthens the safety net that allows students to persist when life gets complicated. It helps remove barriers that might otherwise derail a student’s education. It gives students the confidence to focus on their studies, invest in personal growth, and imagine a future shaped by possibility rather than limitation.

In a year marked by strain and uncertainty, you have helped ensure that Minneapolis College remains a place where opportunity is not an abstract ideal, but a lived experience.
