This will be Liz Pauly’s last concert conducting the Minneapolis College Choir. After 28 years, she is handing her baton to the next generation of choral conductors. Alumni and friends of the choir will be joining the program.

Friday, May 9 at 7 p.m. in the Whitney Fine Arts Theater

Among the pieces to be performed will be Stardust, B.E. Boykin’s moving response to the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd and the victims of the Mother Emmanuel shooting, Carlos Guastavino’s gorgeous Se Equivocó la Palomo, and Sten Källmen’s haunting setting of the Haitian song Fré O. The program will be accompanied by Joel Sundseth on piano and Evan Espinoza Robles on percussion.

Liz is not retiring—she will still be on campus, teaching music courses and continuing to support faculty with online teaching and learning.
