This talk is presented by African American Education Empowerment (AME) as part of the Scholar in Residence series. 

 

Abdullahi Aden Bio:

Public Safety Officer, Faculty Member, and Advisor to Phi Theta Kappa, Abdullahi Aden is a community builder who understands the power of identity and culture to close the distance between us, based on his lived experience in three different countries: his home country, Somalia; his host country, Kenya; and his adopted country, the USA.

Abdullahi was elected president of the College’s Somali Student Association in 2007, and he founded East African Education, Inc. in 2010. Abdullahi earned an Associate of Arts degree from Minneapolis College, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, and a Master of Science degree in Education (specializing in school counseling) from the University of River Falls in Wisconsin.
