The AA with Emphasis in Global Studies prepares students to become productive and engaged global citizens and leaders in their diverse communities and the world. This program fulfills all requirements for the AA degree while including courses specific to the content and methodology of Global Studies. Students will be able to analyze and evaluate dynamic local-global connections, transnational systems and institutions, and contemporary global issues. Completion of the program prepares students for transfer into four-year degree programs that require skills and knowledge for global awareness and diversity, including global studies, ethnic and culture studies, international business, international relations, political science, philosophy, anthropology, development studies, environmental studies and international law.
The Global Studies Certificate explores how the earth and its people affect each other. Courses use interdisciplinary approaches to connect facts and ideas. Whether you plan to work in journalism, banking, biology or other fields that affect people or the earth, this certificate provides a foundation for you to become a productive citizen and a leader.
