Apply for Free During October
Special College Knowledge Month Activities During Minnesota State Week
Students considering their higher education options can apply for admission to any of the 30 colleges and seven universities of Minnesota State without paying an undergraduate application fee as part of Minnesota State Week and College Knowledge Month promotions. Minneapolis College will offer this opportunity during the entire month of October.
“With more than 3,800 extraordinary academic programs delivered in-person, online or in hybrid mode, our colleges and universities offer the most affordable and accessible higher education options in the state,” said Devinder Malhotra, chancellor of Minnesota State. “We are very pleased to extend this offer and encourage students to take the next step towards their higher education goals.”
“In addition to waiving its application fee during College Knowledge Month, Minneapolis College will be hosting informational events during Minnesota State Week,” said Genna Anderson, Director of Admissions at Minneapolis College. “On Oct. 26, we will offer a virtual Admissions overview, one in English and one in Spanish, and a virtual PSEO information session. We will also host an in-person community event, like a mini Open House, on Oct. 27 from 5-7 p.m. All of the events are tailored to give interested students an opportunity to learn more about our campus, educational programs, financial and student supports and student life activities.”
Minnesota State Week is intended to drive student awareness and virtual and in-person campus visits. This year, Minnesota State Week is October 25–31. This timing immediately follows the K-12 MEA break—an outstanding time to take advantage of the many admissions events happening at the colleges and universities in mid-October and learn about available grants and scholarships, including Workforce Development Scholarships for students entering any of several high-demand careers.
College Knowledge Month is a statewide college application initiative that occurs annually during the month of October. The goal is to provide graduating high school seniors, especially underrepresented students, with the support needed to apply for college.
