Bridging the Equity Gap Scholarship
Opportunity and Achievement
Through an intercultural cohort model, the Bridging the Equity Gap Scholarship Program (Bridge Scholars) provides an educational experience focused on exploring Black and Indigenous perspectives and cultures. It is open to all students who choose to apply. Through academic, social, and cultural support, students will be equipped with a quality education and the tools to see greatness in themselves, others, and the greater community.
What is the BTEG program?
- Bridge Scholars receive annual financial support for tuition, course fees, and books. To create a community of support BTEG combines peer-cohort experience and culturally relevant coaching in service to four key outcomes:
- Team building
- Leadership development
- Mentorship
- Civic Engagement
BTEG supports students with academic motivation, personal coaching, mentoring, and financial assistance necessary to successfully navigate their educational journey.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applied and was admitted to Minneapolis College.
- Cannot have attempted more than 12 college credits.
- Complete FAFSA application (FAFSA eligibility required).
- To maintain eligibility, students must register for a minimum of 12 credits per semester.
Participation Requirements
- Attend 3 out of 5 BTEG Sessions each semester.
- Meet with the BTEG Academic Advisor 2 times each semester.
- Important note: If you do not fulfill the participation requirements, your eligibility will be reviewed for the following semester
How to Apply
We have included the BTEG application in the college’s Fall 2026 Scholarship Application. Follow the steps below to access the BTEG application.
First, ensure that you have applied and been accepted to Minneapolis College and completed your FAFSA and entire financial aid process (TRIO can help you with this!).
- Visit the Minneapolis College Scholarship Website
- Select the “Apply Now” button
- Login in with your StarID and Password
- Click on “Apply” – completing this application includes the Bridging the Equity Gap program application and over 25 other scholarships.
Application Deadline
The Bridging the Equity Gap Scholarship application is now open for the 2026-27 academic year and the deadline to apply is July 31.
