Minneapolis College employees are encouraged to intentionally professionally. This is supported through annual allotment of hours dedicated to building skills, business, personal empowerment, soft and technical along with cultural fluency knowledge through our diversity, equity, inclusion programs and in support of our mission to be an anti-racists institution.  In addition to the Enterprise Learning Management offerings, we provide learning channels for the individual in both in person and online offerings in addition to campus wide staff development experiences.

The College provides employees the following opportunities to participate in professional development :  

  • All College Employee Development Day is held annually for staff to learn new skills and further develop their knowledge in support of our mission.
  • Enterprise Learning Management (ELM) is an online tool for planning, scheduling, delivering, tracking, and reporting on learning activities such as training, eLearning, on-the-job training, independent assignments, testing, and survey results.
  • Tuition Waiver is a benefit offered to most employees based on criteria provided in the various union contracts or salary plans. It provides the cost of tuition to Minnesota State Colleges and Universities and, in some cases, certain fees.
