Pay Day
State employees are paid every other Friday. The pay period begins on a Wednesday and ends ten work days later, on a Tuesday.

Employee Self Service Website
If you do not have your State ID number, please visit Human Resources located at K.1100 or call (612)659-6840. You can use the Employee Self Service website (log-in with your State of MN employee ID number) to:
- Check leave balances
- View pay stubs
- Print W-2 forms
- Change W-4
- Sign-up for direct deposit
- Enroll in training
How to View Your Pay Stub
- Go to Self Service
- Use your State employee ID (assigned 8-digit number) as the User ID and add your password (select "Forgot Password" if you do not have one)
- Select State of MN Self Service > My Paystub > View My Paystub

Paid Time Off
Sick Leave
Each union contract indicates how sick leave can be used. Full-time, unlimited employees in AFSCME, MAPE, MMA, Commissioner's Plan, Managerial Plan and MGEC contracts earn four hours of sick leave each full 80 hours pay period.
Sick leave is pro-rated for part-time employees based on the provisions of your union contract. Intermittent appointments begin accruing sick leave on a pro-rated basis after completion of 67 days of employment.
Vacation/Personal Leave
Vacation/Personal Leave is based on the number of years of your State service. For additional information regarding vacation/personal leave, refer to your contract or plan for details.
Holidays
Employees in AFSCME, MAPE, MMA, Commissioner's Plan, Managerial Plan, and MGEC may be eligible for paid holidays. For additional information regarding holiday pay, refer to your contract or plan for details.
Unpaid Leave
Refer to your union contract for leave eligibility/process under your contract.
