Minnesota State Month
October is Minnesota State Month, and the 26 colleges and seven universities of Minnesota State are offering students many ways to save on their higher education experience, including waiving the fee students normally pay when applying for undergraduate admission.
Students can also take advantage of significant savings on tuition and fees by choosing to attend Minnesota State colleges and universities because they have the lowest tuition in the state. Additionally, students from families with an adjusted gross income of less than $80,000 may qualify for free tuition through the North Star Promise Scholarship.
Another way students can save is by taking advantage of the many scholarship opportunities available at all colleges and universities in the Minnesota State system. One example is Workforce Development Scholarships, which encourage students to enter programs in high demand by employers. Some of the fields that qualify for these annual \$2,500 scholarships (to a maximum of \$7,500 over three years) include education, energy, public safety, construction, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, health care, and information technology.
Students can apply for free to Minneapolis College during the month of October.
“The colleges and universities of Minnesota State are always the most affordable, most accessible higher education options in Minnesota,” said Scott Olson, chancellor of Minnesota State. “Minnesota State Month is the perfect time for students to begin their journey towards an extraordinary education at an exceptional value.”
