Minneapolis College Hosted Bonding Tour for State Officials
Minneapolis College hosted officials from Gov. Walz’s office and Minnesota Management and Budget (MMB) for a regional bonding tour on Sept. 23. The visit allowed state officials an opportunity to see the projects for which the College will be requesting funding in the next legislative sessions.
The campus guests were given a tour of the Management Education Center (MEC), where the partnership programs between Metropolitan State University and Minneapolis College are housed. At MEC, students can get a Metro State bachelor’s or master’s degree, attending all their classes on Minneapolis College’s campus.
Administration from both institutions conducted the tour, including Presidents Sharon Pierce of Minneapolis College and Ginny Arthur of Metro State. Also in attendance were staff from the Minnesota State system office.
Capital bonding provides necessary funding to renovate existing space to meet the needs of students, fund needed campus maintenance upgrades and augment relationships with organizations & institutions in partnership with the College.
