The Minneapolis downtown council’s (MDC) mission is to create an extraordinary downtown through leadership, collaboration, advocacy and innovation. Founded in 1955, the Mpls downtown council is one of the most historic central business district associations in the nation and currently has 390 downtown-area organizations in its membership. It produces much cherished Mpls events such as the "Aquatennial" and "Holidazzle" as well as other downtown events throughout the year. The Minneapolis downtown improvement district (MDID), founded in 2009, delivers high levels of service to make downtown greener, cleaner, safer and more vibrant.

Prepare + Prosper was founded in 1971 by a group of like-minded, economic justice-oriented accountants. We began by providing free accounting services to small business owners, then soon added individual tax preparation for people with low to moderate incomes. Over the decades, we’ve grown into the largest Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program in Minnesota, expanding our financial services and products in response to the evolving needs of our community.
