CNC Machinist 

What it is

 

Minneapolis College's CNC Machinist program will give you the technical and problem-solving skills needed to work in the metals manufacturing and processing industries. You will receive a solid foundation in basic skills, plus extensive instruction in advanced manufacturing processes. You will practice the art of traditional machining while you learn the applications of computers, including: computer-integrated machining, computer aided design and manufacturing, and computer programming.

You will be trained in important safety and measurement techniques, learn how to interpret detailed blueprints, and perform key mathematical calculations. You will receive hands-on experience as you perform the turning, milling, drilling, and grinding concepts learned in the classroom.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to work with other class members on team projects to develop valuable teamwork and communications skills that reflect those needed in the industrial setting.
