Browse the frequently asked questions below for answers about registration, payment, courses, and and other CEWD services.
How do I register?
There are three easy ways to register.
- Register securely online with a credit card here.
- Call CEWD to register using a credit card at 612-659-6500.
Register in person with a credit card, cash, or check payment:
Minneapolis College CEWD – Room T4900
1501 Hennepin Ave.
Minneapolis, MN 55403
What happens if a test event is full?
If a test event is full, you may request to be added to the waitlist. There is no charge to join a waitlist, and payment is not required unless a seat becomes available and you are offered registration.
If a seat opens, Continuing Education will contact individuals on the waitlist in the order they were added. The timeframe to accept registration may vary depending on the testing date and circumstances. If you do not respond within the timeframe provided, the seat may be offered to the next person on the waitlist.
What are your policies for payment of class fees?
Full payment is required at the time of registration. We accept cash, check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
A $25 fee will be charged for any check returned due to insufficient funds.
Can my employer or a workforce agency pay my fees?
Yes. If a third party will be paying your registration fees, please call 612-659-6500 or email continuing.education@minneapolis.edu to request a Third-Party Payment Authorization Form. The paying organization must complete and sign the form and submit it before you register.
Can I use financial aid? Do you offer scholarships?
Because Continuing Education courses are non-credit and do not apply toward a degree or certificate program, they are not eligible for federal or state financial aid.
Minneapolis College does not currently offer scholarships for Continuing Education courses. If your employer, workforce agency, or another organization is sponsoring your training, please review our third-party payment options.
How do I cancel or transfer my registration?
To cancel or transfer your registration, please contact Continuing Education at 612-659-6500.
What is your cancellation/refund policy?
If you cancel your registration at least three full business days before the start of the class, you will receive a full refund.
Cancellations requested fewer than three full business days before the class start date are not eligible for a refund.
For testing appointments, cancellation or rescheduling requests must also be made at least three full business days before the scheduled test date. A $15 administrative fee applies to all testing appointment cancellations and rescheduling requests, regardless of when the request is made.
Are classes ever cancelled?
Occasionally, a course may be cancelled due to low enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. If a course is cancelled, Continuing Education will notify registered students by email and/or phone at least 24 hours before the scheduled start date whenever possible.
When a course is cancelled, we will make every effort to transfer your registration to a future offering that meets your needs. If an alternative course date is not available or does not work with your schedule, a full refund will be issued.
If Minneapolis College closes due to severe weather or other emergency conditions, information will be posted on the Minneapolis College website and shared through the College's notification channels.
Where can I find information about accessibility resources?
Minneapolis College is committed to providing equal access to education for all students.
Students who have a disability, or believe they may have a disability, are encouraged to contact the Accessibility Resource Center (ARC) as early as possible to discuss accommodation options and determine eligibility for services. Accommodations are determined on a case-by-case basis and are not provided retroactively.
For accommodation requests related to the Nursing Assistant Test administered through Headmaster, candidates must begin the accommodation request process with Headmaster before scheduling a testing appointment.
All disability-related information and accommodation requests are kept confidential. Only approved accommodations can be provided.
For more information, visit the Accessibility Resource Center website or review the Minnesota Candidate Handbook at D&S - Minnesota Nurse Aide.
