Meet Andrea Snowball. She applied to Minneapolis College in 2004 after “barely” graduating high school, admitting she wasn’t the best student as a teenager. That wasn’t the case once she began chasing her dreams on our campus. Choosing the Minneapolis College campus for its high-quality education, affordability, and downtown energy, Andrea excelled. She worked full-time in the Army National Guard while simultaneously declaring a criminal justice major, earning straight A’s and landing on the Dean’s List.

“The professors at Minneapolis College are second to none. Their curriculum was always engaging and it was obvious they truly cared about me and my future.”

Unsure of what she hoped to do with a criminal justice degree, Andrea gained work experience as a legal assistant while earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Briar Cliff University. Realizing her dream of becoming a lawyer, she is now attending Creighton University School of Law!

“My father and all of my siblings have a long history of substance abuse and addiction, some even being convicted of felonies. Growing up in that environment has made me seek order and stability, both things I find in the study of law.”

As a citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation and the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, Andrea hopes to specialize in Native American law and increase attorney accessibility to tribal entities after graduating in spring 2020. Along with her extremely supportive family, she says that Minneapolis College helped put her on this pathway. We are incredibly proud to be Andrea’s alma mater and can’t wait to see what her bright future holds!
