Student Recruitment on Campus
Part 1. Purpose
This policy establishes guidance for United States Military as well as approved employers, colleges, and universities to conduct recruitment activities of Minneapolis College students at the College.
Part 2. Definitions
The following definitions apply to this policy:
Branch of the Military: A specialized division within the United States armed forces. These divisions are identified as the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Space Force, and Coast Guard.
Types of Recruiters:
Civilian Recruiter: A civilian professional recruiter that attracts and hires qualified candidates for employment at a specific employer.
Higher Education Recruiter: A civilian professional recruiter that attracts potential students to enroll at the college or university that they represent.
Military Recruiter: A military specialist with the primary duty of recruiting students for military service. This includes providing information about services, training, and career opportunities.
Student: As defined by Minnesota State Board Policy 1B.1 Equal Opportunity and nondiscrimination in Employment and Education.
Part 3. Recruiting on Campus
Subpart A. Who Can Recruit on Campus
Minneapolis College provides opportunities for colleges, universities, branches of the United States military, and approved employers to recruit on campus.
Subpart B. Time & Place of Recruitment Activities
The College determines the location and time available for recruiting.
Subpart C. Who to Contact to Recruit on Campus
Employers must contact the Director of Career Services for arrangements.
Branches of the military must contact the Veterans Coordinator in Veterans Services for arrangements.
Colleges and universities must contact the Director of Advising and Retention for arrangements.
Part 4. Responsibilities
Those conducting recruitment activities must abide by all applicable state and federal laws as well as Minneapolis College and Minnesota State system policies and procedures,
