LUCHA Brings COPAL College Tour to Campus
LUCHA (Latinos Unidos for College and Higher Achievement) is excited to welcome COPAL (Comunidades Organizando el Poder y la Acción Latina) and to partner with them on their 2025 College Tour–an initiative that brings critical conversations on environmental justice, community leadership, and civic participation to college campuses across Minnesota.
Take part in the Minneapolis College campus stop of the COPAL College Tour on Monday, October 6 at 2 p.m. in H.1002!
COPAL’s 2025 College Tour features Dr. Daniel Ortega Pacheco, a globally recognized climate leader and expert in sustainable development with over 20 years of experience. During the tour, Dr. Ortega Pacheco will share his personal journey and insights on community resistance to environmental and social crises, highlighting the interconnected struggles for justice both locally and globally.

Dr. Daniel Ortega Pacheco Bio:
Dr. Ortega Pacheco has held senior government roles, including Minister of Environment of Ecuador. He currently serves as Climate Policy Expert UNFCCC, Co-Chair of the Expert Panel at the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM).
His work bridges climate science, finance, and policy to foster inclusive environmental solutions across Latin America and beyond.
